Make The Ask: How to make use of slow periods in your business
This post is for all the creatives (knit and crochet designers, tech editors, dyers, painters) out there running a business - whether full-time or part-time.
STOP waiting to be discovered.
DO reach out to people, brands, and organizations you want to work with.
Instead of griping about how slow things are and your lack of sales, take this time to reach out and make the ask.
This is something we talk about inside my program ALL THE TIME.
Make the ask cuz closed mouths don’t get fed.
And so what if they say no?! They just might say yes. And you wont know until you ask
TO DO
Here’s your to do list:
1) Make a list of your top 10 dream “I wanna work with them” brands.
2) Find the email addresses and names of the contact. Ask your community if you can’t find it.
3) Write a short email introducing yourself and being clear on why you’re emailing.
4) MUST have their name clearly addresses and spelled correctly. Don’t come over here blaming autocorrect. Check it before you send it.
5) Send the email.
6) Make a note in your calendar to follow up in 2 weeks if you don’t hear back
That’s it!!!
The first email is gonna suck. That’s okay. Make the next one better.
Take this slow period in your business to take charge and make opportunities happen.
